The President of the National Health Insurance House (CNAS) stated that the strike of CNAS employees has come to an end following discussions with union leaders. The announcement was made by CNAS President, Andrei Baciu, in a message posted online on November 14, 2023. He emphasized that as a result of these discussions, the healthcare insurance employees will resume payments for hospitals, medical services, and medications.
Essentially, according to the CNAS President, this will lead to resolving the crisis in the healthcare system as a result of the efforts of his liberal colleagues. It is also mentioned that the adopted bill will not incur additional expenses in the state budget, as the modifications strictly concern CNAS’s own funds. Baciu explained that the adoption of this bill addresses an injustice, as professionals in the social healthcare domain were earning significantly less than employees in other institutions with similar roles.
The CNAS President stressed that the system cannot truly be efficient without professional and motivated individuals. He mentioned that this process was initiated several months ago and is culminating in a challenging period. Baciu explained that any delay in resolution would have resulted in a healthcare system standstill.
In conclusion, the salary delay crisis in the healthcare system seems to have come to an end with the cessation of the CNAS employees’ strike. The adopted bill does not impose pressure on the state budget and brings necessary modifications without affecting CNAS’s own funds. Andrei Baciu expressed satisfaction that this issue has been resolved and that CNAS employees will be able to return to their usual activity of managing payments for medical services.
